Home remedies for blemishes on the face
Blemishes are often referred as the flaws in the skin or skin imperfections. It makes the skin tone uneven and sometimes even leads to patches on the skin. The common symptoms of blemishes are patchy skin, inflammation, redness, scars, swelling and sometimes popped out pimples too. Blemishes can be found on any part of the body but we will be specifically talking about the blemishes on face, its treatment and methods to cure at home.
Major causes of blemishes
Increased of oil in the body
Sebum, the hormone that produces natural oil in the body is one of the major cause of blemishes. Sebum usually block the pores and the result is all we have blemishes.
Don’t touch your face more often
We do almost every work of our life with our beautiful hands but remember the more our fingers are indulged in work the more it becomes bacteria prone. Bacteria contacts with the skin and leads to blemishes.
Eating too much fat
If you are too much into dairy products then your system may not accept so much of fat. It is believed that consuming too much of dairy products makes your skin oil prone and thus causes blemishes.
Wash it before you sleep
Whether you put on your makeup all day long or not make a habit of washing your face off daily every night before going to bed. All the dirt gets stick to your face when you travel all day long which makes the skin weak.
Estrogen is one such hormone that regulates your menstrual cycle. Irregular periods and imbalance of estrogen makes the skin patchy and often gives scars on your face.
Save your skin from too much cosmetics
Branded or unbranded, too much of cosmetics always harm your skin. It is advisable not to use too much skin care products specially the chemical prone one. It makes the skin pores blocked.
Acne and eczema are two very common skin problems that lead to blemishes. Visit a dermatologist soon if you face either of the two.

Home remedies for blemishes free skin:
Lemon juice and cucumber
Lemon has acidic properties and cucumber has cooling properties. Lemon treats the patchiness and redness and cucumber will help in cooling down the inflammation.
Peel off the cucumber and extract its juice.
Mix 2-3 drops of lemon juice and apply the mixture with a cotton ball on your face.
Apply this mixture for about ten minutes for 3-4 times a week.
Steam treatment and castor oil
Steam will help opening the blocked facial pores due to sebum.
You can take the steam with a towel ready directly from steamer
Boil some water in a pan and make your towel ready. Take the steam on your face at a distance covered with towel for about 3-4 minutes.
Tap your face with the towel and clear off the water vapours
Take a handful of castor oil and apply on your face gently and massage a little.
It can do wonders on face since it has vitamin C. It will help in treating scars.
Extract its juice and apply directly onto your face.
For better results you can mix rose water with it.
It is extremely good for treating blemishes and acne.
One can directly rub the orange peel on the skin.
Dry the orange peel in sunlight. It may take 2-3 days in drying. Crush into a powdery form. Mix it with organic honey and rose water and apply onto the face.
This mixture when applied twice a week can do wonders.
Neem has anti – oxidant properties. Most of the medications for acne and blemishes contain neem.
Form a paste from neem leaves and mix some paste of fuller’s earth and rose water with it.
Neem will is extremely beneficial for skin.
Tomato is a little acidic. It may hurt a little when applied. Helps in removing tan and blemishes.
Apply the tomato paste directly.
Rinse it off with cold water
Can be applied twice or thrice a week.
Baking soda helps in healing. Too much use of it is also harmful. One can go with the instructions once a week.
Take ½ tbsp. of baking soda and mix it with distilled water.
Don’t apply the paste all over the face. Apply it only on the affected area.
You can apply this in night before going to bed and wash it off after ten minutes for better results.
Once a week would be enough for this.
Cinnamon and honey
Cinnamon should be used in less quantity as it can cause irritation too when used in higher quantity. However cinnamon and honey is a very good and fast healing option for blemishes. Prefer using organic honey rather than chemically produced one.
Mix a pinch of cinnamon powder with 1 tbsp of organic honey.
Apply this paste slowly on face and rinse it off after ten minutes. If it burns rinse it off immediately.
Rinse with cool water and moisturize immediately and next time mix less cinnamon powder.
Egg white and lemon juice
Egg white has components that treats the spots on skin.
Extract the white egg part from an egg and 2 drops of lemon juice into it.
If you want to increase its thickness to make it stay on your face can add some honey also.
Apply it for 15-20 minutes of duration and rinse off.
Fullers earth(Multani mitti)
Popularly known as multani mitti in Indian ingredients, it is wonderful for the skin. It not only helps in blemishes but also helps in skin lightening.
Take 2 tbsp of multani mitti powder and mix with 2 tbsp of rose water.
Apply it on the face for 20 minutes.
You can apply this almost daily as it will do no harm to your skin.
